One of the best tools I ever added to my tool bag, and which I consider essential equipment is the Magic Wand tester which allows you to easily check and see if the electricity is turned off. I treasure them to the point that I decided to do a video some years ago about how to use one.
Having gone though several of them with out really seeing any of them really out shine the others, I now just use whichever one happens to be at Lowe’s when my current one breaks down.
And I seem to go through them faster than I do other testing tools, not sure why that is but it’s not a big deal because they are very reasonably price, normally starting around 20 bucks with some into the 80’s or 90’s. I tend to use the bottom end ones, simply because they get the job done for me.
They are a must have when trying to tell whether you have power to the machine or if the control board is actually sending power to a part.
Do yourself a favor and pick one up at your local parts supply or Lowe’s, you’ll be glad you did.
