A fellow member of a facebook group, Appliance Pro Talk, posted a request this afternoon for some help in getting Google to index his website. So I thought I’d go ahead and share a little knowledge on Appliance Repair Marketing, specifically in the area of getting placed in and ranked by Google.

I’m going to focus on the top 5 things my experience has shown me to be crucial in keeping my sites ranked and profitable. I’ll be covering the first two in this article and the final three in a follow up.

One.
Make sure your site will download quickly! This is actually the easiest of them all because Google makes a simple tool for it. Google Page Speed Analysis Tool. Open the page, type in your website and get insights into how fast your site downloads as well as instructions on how to make it download faster.

Having a fast download speed is the first step in getting the most out of all your SEO efforts!

Speed is important because it helps Google in it’s mission goal of providing the best answer in the shortest amount of time. One of the reasons my web site ranks so well is because of my site’s fast download speed.

If you are having trouble getting indexed and speed is an issue, I’d be happy to consult with you on how to solve the problem.

Two.
Linking. It is important that your site is linking to other sites on the web and that other sites are linking to you.

The way Google finds sites is by using a spider program to look at links on known sites to find new ones. So if you’re not linking out and in, your chances of being discovered are very small.

However linking should be done smartly and in a manner which replicates organic growth. The last thing you want to do is hire a cheap link builder who puts up a thousand links overnight from bad sources. You may as well spray paint SPAM on your website’s forehead for Google to see!

One of the ways you can create quality back links is by guest posting on blogs that are in your business specialty which allow you to link back to your website in the byline.

In fact, one of the reasons I created this website was to create linking opportunities for some of the sites I intend to rank on Google.

I’ll be setting up a Facebook Group which lets Appliance Repair Website Owners work together with linking and blogging to improve Google ranking. If you’re interested in joining please let me know by dropping a line in the comments below!

In Part Two we’ll be looking at the next three most important items. Meta Tags, Content and User Experience so please check back later.
